Week 7: What is Lyceum

Uhm, first Lyceum is a school, Lols, ahaha,. For me it is my second home, every school is always a home for me.

I’m glad that I school here, no doubts, because I learned a lot of things from this institution, from the different teachers that I met, plus the true friends, the one really true. I thank GOD for giving all of this and them.

Though I pass different schools before, from being a lasallian, bravehearts, mapuan and now lycean, it’s an honor. Being part of this school, let me learn a lot of knowledge and skills from the past 2 1/2 semester that I took.

I hope that it will walk its success till the coming years. That’s all thanks.

Happy Sembreak to all. ;D

week 6: interview

Having an interview with multimedia based company was an honor. First you will have an insight on the highlights on what will you do in the mere future. Second you will have the knowledge to know where will you be working.

It’s hard to find a certain company because first their too busy and their place was far from us, so we’ll going to spent much for food and transportation. But luckily we found one.

From the interview we had from picture city, we learned a lot, from the different basics of marketing strategy and what are the ways to have a good and welcoming business.

Adding up, we had this kind of improvement in communications skills.

Week 5: CAS for me

CAS, or what we called the College of Arts and Sciences, is the department wherein specialized students in arts and sciences is studying.

The unique part of this department was teacher-student relationship was well developed because, as they say, CAS students were the active and noisy ones. But sometimes truthfully speaking their is also limitations on teacher-student communication. Through that, most of the teachers enter on what we call personal lives of the student that for other student it’s quite annoying.

Having been in Lyceum for 1 year, and being part of CAS was a great honor for me. I adjusted so much, as it is, because from my previous school, teachers were not tampering our personal lives, they just teach, and let the students do their works. But they give advices.

Second, from CAS I met what we called true friends like Paula, Mela, Roxxane and others from MMA. I also brought back my “Batangueno punto” sometimes, though I forget it when I’m in Manila because of Jonathan.

I’m thankful to MMA, because I think they can handle my temper, in a nice way. Because always I’m irritated to person acting like a child, that doesn’t looks cute. iww!!. ^.^

That’s all, just a new adventure in CAS, I hope I’ll finish college with this department.

week 3: Seminar overview “All about marketing business”

Last September 3, 2011 we attended a seminar on ways to market your business. What were the different key points to consider in order to have a good marketing strategy.

First we tackled the difference between ‘corporate image’ and ‘corporate identity’. When we say corporate image it is the perception and impression of an organization by the public, how the market place really feels about you, composite psychological impression and image of what a company stands for. It’s about having the company’s genuine image when someone heard their name. Something like first comes in costumers minds. Second was corporate identity wherein it was something to do with the on how you want your business to look, it is the company’s corporate design.

Second was the PR or public relations wherein this includes community involvement, sponsorship, environmental project and participation in quality improvement schemes and good practice in industrial relations.

From the different topics mention above I learned a lot at the seminar, adding a good emcee, as well as experienced talk. I learned the different variables I must consider to make my projects a better one. I have the what we call rules to imply.

Concluding the seminar adds me up on what we call “diskarte” thinking, in order to survive in the real corporate world.

week 2: plans for long days.

I have many plans for this long weekend. First thing was over, it was making the Photograhy project which was done at Mela’s house and it was fun because we had laughtrip and jokes with everyone with JC and Jer jer. After my second plan was to watch “big thing” episodes because I missed them during school days. Third was, reading different blog entries and fan made churvaloo of my favorite pop idols. But I think my days will be a lonely one because I will not going to see my bestfriends, bitches and the such. Also I will also sleep alot.

I don’t have reaction on the seminar because I didn’t attend for the reason that the rain was too heavy.

week no.1

My reactions on Ms. A’s  grouping

First I’m shocked because we’re only three, I thought it would be composed of about five members, but deep in my mind, it’s ok, I think I can handle.

When I knew that Rio Bote and Ralph Nones will be my group mates, I don’t have any bad thinkings in my mind because I’m person who’s always be willing to group with anybody who feels at east at me. In reality we will be force to make a certain project for the company although whether you don’t like your colleagues or you do.  Also every people has his guts to learn, maybe others were only lazy to find it, but they have capabilities. I ever don’t underestimate anybody, unless their the once you first judge me based on their eyesight.

I don’t want a groupmates who backstab me, like they will kinda erase you in the group without you knowing it, and you’ll have a very low score because of them. That’s what we call “gahaman”.  I experienced this with one of my subjects this semester 2011, where I have a group mates whom I think underestimate me, they’re younger than me, and they have this pride to do this. I texted them what will I do. I don’t receive any replies, so I taught the project was not yet done. The other day they have this presentation. In the back of my mind “sana man lng ngsabi sila na hindi ako isasali, para akong tanga, wala akong natatanggap na kahit ano, un pala tinanggal ako, ok lng naman madali naman humanap ng another group basta magsasabi sila ”, that’s what you called, immorality. My eyesight on them lowered. For me their lower class. I don’t do anything then they started. From that lesson. I became stronger now. That attitudes will last, and “may hangganan ang lahat, hindi mo pa nararating yung kumita ng pera, may ugali kana”. Right?!!!

A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. I would never want to be a member of a group whose symbol was a guy nailed to two pieces of wood.

Everything can be practiced. If your willing to do it, you can. That’s all good day.

The use of information system in Business

Information system typically include people, procedures, data, software, and hardware that are used to gather and analyze digital information. It is very helpful in business in different ways.

First Information system is helpful in a way it provides operational quality in business. It helps business to gain more profit. One example of it was the internet based shopping, business establishments provide the products available in the market and then business will check the availability of product. Compared to a manual shopping if you have a product which was empty you’re going to a shopping outlet and you will be surprise that it is not available. So through Information System, you can check if it is available in order to avoid waste of time and money. It will also be a helpful information for consumers.

Second it will improve in what we call customer/supplier relationship. Through IS, consumers will have their questions of the different product. They can put cons and pros on what the product had benefit them. Through this the business can also reply to the consumer on what was the problem so that consumers will not automatically have a negative feedback. This will improve a certain business establishment in a way that it will help them to change a certain negativity on their operations through consumers feedbacks.

And lastly, though it has many functions, IS will be functional for business to survive. Technology is very wide and overly used by people at this era. Many business establishments live in the world of internet and gain billions of dollars through it with only a sit in a chair. Through IS a business can review the status of their establishments. They can also see and review on their competitive range. They can look on whether there are going to pursue their establishment. Concluding, IS gives awareness on establishment in order for them to not be naïve on the different changes and innovation every span of time.

Friends in need, real friends and fairweather friends

‘A friend in need is a friend indeed’ is a popular saying, implying that some people play the friendship card when they need something from you. Whilst this can indeed be true, the reverse is also significant. When you are in need, then you find out who are your real friends.
An acquaintance found out recently that she has a chronic medical condition. Nothing visible and nothing to stop her living a normal life, but something that will occasionally flare up and cause discomfort. She also found out something of the difference between real and fairweather friends.
She informed them simply because she is an open and honest person. There was no seeking of particular help. Perhaps a little sympathy, but no special treatment or additional attention.
When she told some friends, they responded with concern. They listened without asking anything in return. They asked how they could help. These were real friends.
Others, who she also believed to be friends of the same sort, responded first with selfish concerns. They asked if it was infectious in any way or that might somehow catch it. Then they melted away, despite reassurance of their safety.
Fairweather friends are those who are most likely to appear when they are in need or, at best, when you are not in need. Real friends don’t care about your need. They will help where they can and know that it’s ok if they can only offer a little sympathy.
This must be something like what it is to have cancer, HIV or AIDS. Those who were friends when all was well suddenly show their true colors, whilst some from the core and some from the periphery fly the true flag of friendship, offering and giving what help they can.
